Recap: Emborado at Enschede Slush’D

Yesterday, we had the chance to join emborado at Enschede Slush’D, a satellite event of the well-known Slush in Helsinki. And what can we say: it was a truly rewarding day that not only brought us plenty of fresh impulses but also strengthened our own team spirit.

On the road together – exchanging ideas from the very start

The trip was organized by the REACH Startup-Center Münster, which brought us together with other founders, coaches, and participants on a bus ride to Enschede. Even during the ride, engaging conversations started: for example, Yannik Bannat from e-lyte shared insights into how e-lyte develops electrolytes for modern energy storage – a fascinating glimpse into a completely different, yet equally innovative, field.

Short, clear, convincing – not as easy as it sounds

Throughout the day, we were constantly engaged in conversations with startups, coaches, and investors from the German-Dutch border region. One challenge: being able to explain our idea clearly and convincingly in just a few sentences. A valuable exercise that helped us sharpen our pitch even further.

Networking with real value

Of course, the event was also about making new connections – and we succeeded. What was especially enriching, however, was the exchange with fellow Münster-based startups we already knew from the Validation Lab and the REACH incubator:

  • UserAid – making websites barrier-free
  • BetterBites – optimizing food costs and processes in large-scale kitchens through smart guest forecasts
  • DemocracyHub – enabling secure digital elections

We had the chance to exchange ideas on similar challenges and experiences and learn from one another.

Inspiring program highlights

The event also featured some truly valuable sessions:

  • A panel discussion on “How to get the most out of your DEV-Team” provided helpful tips for collaborating with developers (still a rather compact team for us, admittedly).
  • The discussion “When to Go Abroad” shed light on key steps in the process of internationalization.

Wrapping up the day

The day ended with great food, drinks, and music – the perfect opportunity to continue networking in a relaxed atmosphere.

Our conclusion: Enschede Slush’D was an inspiring mix of networking, input, and team spirit. We returned to Münster with lots of new contacts, ideas, and motivation – and we’re already looking forward to the next events!
